Satī Encounters Disrespect at Dakṣa’s Sacrifice
Sati (addressing Daksha in the Daksha-yajna narrative, as relayed by Suta Goswami)
Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
It condemns ritual ego: seeking the fruits of sacrifice while denying Shiva—the Supreme Lord (Pati)—is ignorance and becomes an offense that blocks true spiritual knowledge and liberation.
The verse emphasizes honoring Shiva as the rightful Lord of all worship; Linga/Saguna Shiva worship is the corrective to Daksha-like pride, grounding ritual in surrender and reverence rather than social status or self-will.
Perform worship with humility and Shiva-centered intention—japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and respectful Shiva-puja (often with bhasma and Rudraksha in Shaiva practice) rather than chasing “shares” or rewards in ritual.
