सतीचरिते पितृगृहे आशीर्वाद-वचनम् तथा यौवनारम्भः — Satī at her father’s house: blessings and the onset of youth
मार्गशीर्षेऽसिताष्टम्यां सतिलैस्सयवौदनैः । पूजयित्वा हरं कीलैर्निनाय दिवसान् सती
mārgaśīrṣe'sitāṣṭamyāṃ satilaissayavaudanaiḥ | pūjayitvā haraṃ kīlairnināya divasān satī
Sa madilim na ikawalong araw ng buwan (Kṛṣṇāṣṭamī) sa buwan ng Mārgaśīrṣa, sinamba ni Satī si Hara sa mga handog na linga at kaning niluto na may sebada; at sa matibay na mga panata (vrata) at mahigpit na pagpipigil, ginugol niya ang mga araw sa taimtim na pagsasagawa.
