देवेन्द्र उवाच । देवदेव रमानाथ त्वष्टा मां निहनिष्यति । पुत्रशोकेन तप्तोऽसौ व्याजेनानेन नान्यथा
devendra uvāca | devadeva ramānātha tvaṣṭā māṃ nihaniṣyati | putraśokena tapto'sau vyājenānena nānyathā
Sinabi ni Indra: “O Diyos ng mga diyos, O Panginoon ni Ramā (Śrī), papatayin ako ni Tvaṣṭṛ. Sinusunog siya ng dalamhati sa kanyang anak, at sa dahilang ito’y hinahanap niya ang aking kamatayan—hindi sa iba pang dahilan.”

Indra’s address to the Supreme Lord reflects turning from external authority to Saguna Śiva as protector and guide; in Purāṇic practice this is embodied by approaching the Śiva-liṅga for śaraṇāgati (surrender), seeking grace that pacifies hostility and fear.
A practical takeaway is śaraṇāgati through japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and Śiva-pūjā with bhasma (tripuṇḍra) and rudrākṣa, cultivating inner steadiness amid threats and conflict.
