The verse frames Śiva’s actions as “paramaṃ yaśaḥ” (supreme glory), teaching that contemplating Mahādeva’s sacred deeds—especially those connected with divine auspiciousness (maṅgala)—purifies devotion and steadies the seeker toward grace (anugraha).
By praising Śaṅkara’s celebrated acts in a concrete narrative setting, the text points to Saguna Śiva—worshipped through stories, names, and forms—through which devotees approach the transcendent Lord who is ultimately beyond form.
A practical takeaway is śravaṇa (devotional listening) and smaraṇa (remembrance) of Śiva’s līlā; this can be paired with japa of the Pañcākṣarī—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—as one hears and contemplates the narrative.
