Girijā’s Austerity-Test and the Summoning of the Seven Sages
विद्याधरश्चित्रकेतुर्यो बभूव पुराकरोत् । स्वोपदेशमयं दत्त्वा तस्मै शून्यं च तद्गृहम्
vidyādharaścitraketuryo babhūva purākarot | svopadeśamayaṃ dattvā tasmai śūnyaṃ ca tadgṛham
Noong unang panahon ay may isang Vidyādhara na nagngangalang Citraketu. Matapos ipagkaloob sa kanya ang aral na nagmula sa sariling banal na upadeśa, iniwan niya ang bahay na yaon na walang laman—malaya sa mga gapos ng daigdig—upang ang alagad ay magbalik-loob sa loob at tumuon kay Śiva, ang Kataas-taasang Pati, at hanapin ang paglaya.
