देवस्तुतिः—नन्दिकेश्वरविज्ञप्तिः—शम्भोः समाधेः उत्थानम्
Devas’ Hymn, Nandikeśvara’s Petition, and Śiva’s Rising from Samādhi
जनो विषयिणा साकं वार्तातः पतति क्षणात् । विषयं प्राहुराचार्यास्सितालितेंद्रवारुणीम्
jano viṣayiṇā sākaṃ vārtātaḥ patati kṣaṇāt | viṣayaṃ prāhurācāryāssitāliteṃdravāruṇīm
Ang tao, sa pakikipag-usap lamang sa isang alipin ng pagnanasa sa pandama, ay maaaring bumagsak sa isang iglap. Kaya ipinahahayag ng mga guro na maging ang mga pinong nakalalasing—puting alak, maitim na alak, ang “inumin ni Indra,” at alak na wain—ay mga bagay ng pagpapakalabis.

It teaches that saṅga (association) powerfully shapes consciousness: even casual talk with a viṣayī quickly pulls the mind toward pasha (bondage), so a seeker should guard speech, company, and habits to preserve devotion to Pati (Shiva).
Linga-worship requires śauca and steadiness; intoxication and sensual company disturb japa, dhyāna, and vrata. By avoiding viṣaya, the devotee becomes fit for focused pūjā and for receiving Shiva’s grace in saguna upāsanā.
Adopt satsanga and niyama: keep a vrata of abstinence from intoxicants, do Panchakshara japa (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), and maintain purity conducive to bhasma/tripundra and daily Shiva pūjā.
