तारकपीडितदेवशरणागतिḥ — The Devas Seek Refuge from Tāraka
देवा ऊचुः । शम्भोर्य्यथा शिवायां वै रुचिजायेत कामतः । मघवंस्ते प्रकर्तव्यं ब्रह्मोक्तं सर्वमेव तत्
devā ūcuḥ | śambhoryyathā śivāyāṃ vai rucijāyeta kāmataḥ | maghavaṃste prakartavyaṃ brahmoktaṃ sarvameva tat
Wika ng mga diyos: “O Maghavan (Indra), upang si Śambhu (Śiva), sa sariling kalooban, ay magkaanyo ng banal na pag-ibig at pagkiling kay Śivā (Pārvatī), isagawa mo nang lubos ang lahat ng ipinagbilin ni Brahmā.”

It highlights that even the gods rely on ordained divine order (Brahmā’s counsel) so that Śiva’s grace and willing affection may arise—showing that union with Śiva is ultimately fulfilled by his own free will and auspicious consent.
Śambhu is approached here as Saguna Śiva—responsive to devotion and auspicious circumstances. In Linga-worship too, devotees follow prescribed methods (vidhi) while recognizing that the fruit comes when Śiva’s favor (anugraha) awakens.
The verse implies faithful adherence to guru/śāstra-instruction (like Brahmā’s directive). Practically, this aligns with disciplined Shiva-upāsanā—japa of the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” along with simple vrata-style observance done with devotion and obedience to scriptural guidance.
