शतवर्षं तथा चाग्नौ शतवर्षमधोमुखः । शतवर्षं तु हस्तस्य तलेन च भुवं स्थित
śatavarṣaṃ tathā cāgnau śatavarṣamadhomukhaḥ | śatavarṣaṃ tu hastasya talena ca bhuvaṃ sthita
Sa loob ng sandaang taon, nanatili siya sa apoy; sa sandaang taon, nanatili siyang nakabaligtad (ulo sa ibaba). At sa sandaang taon, tumindig siya sa lupa na ang tanging sandigan ay ang palad ng kanyang kamay—sa gayon ay nagsagawa siya ng mabagsik na tapasya.
