Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating the prescribed worship as taught in the Rudrasaṃhitā context)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Nīlakaṇṭha
Type: stotra
Offering: naivedya
It teaches that true Śaiva worship unites reverence (praṇipāta), verbal devotion (stava), and proper offerings (arghya) to approach Śiva as the compassionate Lord (Pati) who grants grace and purification.
The verse outlines a concrete, Saguna mode of devotion—offering arghya items like tāmbūla and singing hymns—typical of Liṅga/Śiva-pūjā where the devotee honors Śiva’s manifest form (here, Bālacandra).
Offer arghya with auspicious substances (including tāmbūla), prostrate, and recite stotras; as a practical takeaway, combine pūjā with mantra-japa (e.g., Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) while contemplating Śiva as Bālacandra.
