स राजा सहसागत्य समाप्तनियमो निशि । ददर्श गोपिकासूनोः प्रभावं शिवतोषणम्
sa rājā sahasāgatya samāptaniyamo niśi | dadarśa gopikāsūnoḥ prabhāvaṃ śivatoṣaṇam
Ang haring iyon ay biglang dumating sa gabi matapos ganap na maisagawa ang kanyang mga panata at pagtalima. Nasaksihan niya ang kapangyarihan ng anak ng babaeng pastol ng baka—kapangyarihang nakalulugod kay Panginoong Śiva.

Complete a vrata with niyama—night vigil, mantra-japa (especially pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), and Śiva-pūjā with bhasma and rudrākṣa—seeking not display of power but Śiva-toṣaṇa (Śiva’s pleasure).
