उपस्पृश्याप उत्थाय वरणक्रममारभेत् । पवित्रपाणिः संस्पृश्य पाणी ब्राह्मणयोर्वदेत्
upaspṛśyāpa utthāya varaṇakramamārabhet | pavitrapāṇiḥ saṃspṛśya pāṇī brāhmaṇayorvadet
Pagkatapos sumipsip ng tubig para sa paglilinis at tumindig, dapat simulan ang wastong pagkakasunod ng pormal na pag-anyaya at paggalang sa mga tagapagpaganap ng ritwal. Sa kamay na ginawang dalisay ayon sa ritwal, at matapos humipo nang may pagpipitagan, dapat niyang kausapin ang mga kamay ng dalawang Brāhmaṇa, na humihiling ng kanilang pakikibahagi sa seremonya.

Linga worship is approached through prescribed purity and proper observance; by inviting qualified Brāhmaṇas/ritviks in the correct sequence, the devotee ensures the Linga-puja is performed according to śāstra, supporting focused bhakti toward Saguna Shiva.
Perform ācamana (sipping sanctified water) to purify speech and mind, then proceed in the correct ritual order—respectfully inviting the officiants—maintaining cleanliness of hands and conduct before beginning the main Shiva-puja.
