Mantra 1

Come here—for your delight is well-pressed, O Indra; drink this Soma. Here is the sacred seat, the strewn wideness of my offering-place.
Mantra 2
आ त्वा ब्रह्मयुजा हरी वहतामिन्द्र केशिना । उप ब्रह्माणि नः शृणु ॥
Let the two tawny steeds yoked by the brahman bring you here, O Indra with flowing mane. Come near; hear our mantras.
Mantra 3
ब्रह्माणस्त्वा वयं युजा सोमपामिन्द्र सोमिनः । सुतावन्तो हवामहे ॥
We, the makers of the brahman, yoke you—O Indra, drinker of Soma, with the Soma-pressers. Possessing the pressed delight, we call you.
Mantra 4
आ नो याहि सुतावतोऽस्माकं सुष्टुतीरुप । पिबा सु शिप्रिन्नन्धसः ॥
Come to us, to our pressings of Soma; draw near to our well-shaped hymns. Drink deeply, O Shiprin (mighty-jawed one), of the Soma-essence—so that the force of delight may awaken in us.
Mantra 5
आ ते सिञ्चामि कुक्ष्योरनु गात्रा वि धावतु । गृभाय जिह्वया मधु ॥
Into thy belly I pour it; let it run and spread through all thy limbs. Take it with the tongue—the honeyed sweetness—so that delight may permeate and quicken the whole being.
Mantra 6
स्वादुष्टे अस्तु संसुदे मधुमान्तन्वे तव । सोमः शमस्तु ते हृदे ॥
Sweet be it to thy full enjoyment; honey-rich for thy body. Let Soma be peace and settling harmony to thy heart—so the divine force works from calm delight, not from turmoil.
Mantra 7
अयमु त्वा विचर्षणे जनीरिवाभि संवृतः । प्र सोम इन्द्र सर्पतु ॥
This Soma surrounds thee, O discerner of men, like women encircling their beloved; let it glide forward into thee, O Indra—entering and awakening the intimate powers of consciousness.
Mantra 8
तुविग्रीवो वपोदरः सुबाहुरन्धसो मदे । इन्द्रो वृत्राणि जिघ्नते ॥
Wide-necked, strong-bellied, fair-armed in the ecstasy of Soma—Indra strikes down the Vṛtras: the knotting obstructions that hold back the free flow of light and power in us.
Mantra 10
दीर्घस्ते अस्त्वङ्कुशो येना वसु प्रयच्छसि । यजमानाय सुन्वते ॥
Long be thy goad, by which thou bestowest the riches of being. Give forth the true plenitude to the sacrificer who presses Soma—so the aspiring soul may be guided and increased.
Mantra 11
अयं त इन्द्र सोमो निपूतो अधि बर्हिषि । एहीमस्य द्रवा पिब ॥
This Soma for thee, O Indra, purified, lies upon the sacred seat. Come—run to it—and drink of this flowing essence, so the clarified delight may become thy effective strength in us.
Mantra 12
शाचिगो शाचिपूजनायं रणाय ते सुतः । आखण्डल प्र हूयसे ॥
O companion of Śacī, O worshipper of Śacī, this Soma is pressed for thy battle. O Akhaṇḍala (unbroken one), thou art called forth—come as the intact power that cannot be shattered by the adversary within.
Mantra 13
यस्ते शृङ्गवृषो नपात्प्रणपात्कुण्डपाय्यः । न्यस्मिन्दध्र आ मनः ॥
He who is thy horned-bull offspring, thy forward-driving descendant, the Kuṇḍapāyya—he has fixed his mind here within this (rite/field). May that concentrated intention settle in us and make the force steadfast.
Mantra 14
वास्तोष्पते ध्रुवा स्थूणांसत्रं सोम्यानाम् । द्रप्सो भेत्ता पुरां शश्वतीनामिन्द्रो मुनीनां सखा ॥
O Lord of the dwelling, be the firm pillar of those who share the Soma. A drop (drapsa) that breaks the age-long strongholds—Indra, the friend of the silent seers—establishes a safe, illumined habitation within us.
Mantra 15
पृदाकुसानुर्यजतो गवेषण एकः सन्नभि भूयसः । भूर्णिमश्वं नयत्तुजा पुरो गृभेन्द्रं सोमस्य पीतये ॥
May the single, adoring seeker of the luminous Rays—Pṛdāku on the ridge—press forward towards the greater plenitude. Let the swift force lead the whirling steed in front; seize Indra and bring him here for the drinking of Soma (the delight of consciousness).
