Even the ascetics left the place approaching that the mountain would be broken into pieces by creatures. The alarmed vidyadharas leaped into the sky along with groups of their women, leaving behind golden jugs of wine as well as precious utensils, big and small sizes, and golden goblets, cups in the drinking place, as well as many tasty eatables like licking food, chewing food and many types of meat. They also left bull-hides and swords with golden sheaths.
It highlights discernment under danger: even powerful celestial beings retreat when conditions turn perilous—prudence is also a form of dharma when life and duty must be preserved.
The mountain region reacts to the disturbance caused by Hanumān’s arrival/movement; residents (Vidyādharas, ascetics) flee, leaving luxuries behind.
Indirectly, Hanumān’s overwhelming power is implied; for the fleeing beings, the emphasized trait is self-preservation and quick decision-making.
