Entry toward Viśālā and the Indra–Kṣīrodamathana Legend

Dahil dito, ang mga anak ni Diti ay tinawag na mga asura, at ang mga anak ni Aditi ay mga sura; at ang mga deva ay nagalak, sapagkat tinanggap nila ang Vāruṇī.
For that reason, sons of Diti were called asuras. Aditi's sons were known as suras. Devatas grew exceedingly glad for having Varuni.
Identity is tied to conduct and choices: acceptance or refusal leads to names and reputations that persist, teaching accountability in communal decisions.
Viśvāmitra concludes the episode by explaining how the terms ‘sura’ and ‘asura’ are connected to the acceptance of Vāruṇī, and notes the devas’ joy.
Collective accountability—groups become defined by what they endorse or reject, underscoring responsibility for shared outcomes.
