पञ्चदशः सर्गः — देवकृत-प्रार्थना, रावणवधोपायः, विष्णोः मानुषावतारनियोजनम्
Sarga 15: The Devas’ Petition, the Means to Slay Ravana, and Vishnu’s Commission to Incarnate as Man
तत्र त्वं मानुषो भूत्वा प्रवृद्धं लोककण्टकम्।अवध्यं दैवतैर्विष्णो समरे जहि रावणम्।।1.15.20।।
tatra tvaṃ mānuṣo bhūtvā pravṛddhaṃ lokakaṇṭakam |
avadhyaṃ daivatair viṣṇo samare jahi rāvaṇam ||1.15.20||
Doon, mag-anyong-tao Ka, O Viṣṇu, at sa digmaan ay patayin si Rāvaṇa—na lumaki ang kapalaluan, tinik sa mga daigdig, at di-matatalo ng mga diyos.
"O Visnu! assuring human form, kill Ravana in the battle. He has become a source of torment to the worlds and is invincible by gods.
Dharma demands removing a tyrant who harms the worlds; force (battle) is justified when it restores protection and moral order.
The gods explain the necessity of a human incarnation: Rāvaṇa cannot be slain by gods, so Viṣṇu must take human form.
Viṣṇu’s commitment to safeguarding the world, and the ideal of righteous warfare against oppression.
