अनादृत्य तु तद्वाक्यं रावण: कालचोदित: ।।।।जगाम सह मारीचस्तस्याश्रमपदं तदा ।

anādṛtya tu tadvākyaṃ rāvaṇaḥ kālacoditaḥ | jagāma saha mārīcas tasyāśramapadaṃ tadā || 1.1.51 ||

Ngunit sa pagwawalang-bahala sa mga salitang iyon, si Rāvaṇa—na itinulak ng tadhana—ay umalis kasama si Mārīca patungo sa ermita ni Rāma.
