jananī cārthakāmā me kekayādhipateḥ sutā || 2.16.17 ||
Ang aking ina—anak ng hari ng Kekaya—ay nagagalak, at sa pagsunod sa mabuting layon ng dakilang hari, hinahangad ang aking kapakanan.
My mother, daughter of the king of Kekaya, knows the king's intention and, heppy to do me good, seeks my wellbeing.
It reflects the ideal expectation of kinship dharma: parents and elders should seek a child’s welfare, and family bonds are presumed to be rooted in beneficence.
Rāma continues explaining to Sītā that Kaikeyī, his stepmother, appears pleased and supportive of his advancement.
Rāma’s trustfulness and respectful view of elders, treating intentions as wholesome unless proven otherwise.
