O best of men, having seen the auspicious life of our father Dasaratha and his conduct, you also stick to your own duty.
Dharma is presented as svadharma—acting according to one’s rightful role and inner discipline, guided by exemplary elders (Daśaratha’s noble conduct).
Rāma advises Bharata to accept responsibility in accordance with duty, rather than overturning the father’s decision through emotional impulse.
Self-governance and role-fidelity—Bharata is urged to embody disciplined kingship consistent with family ideals.
