Bharata’s Petition and Rama’s Instruction on Time and Mortality
Tahimik silang magkakasamang nakaupo; walang sinumang nagsalita kahit kaunti.
People rejoice when the Sun rises and rejoice when the Sun sets. But they are unaware of the decline of the life span of their own.
Dharma here is restraint and reverent speech: silence in grief and then speaking with purpose when counsel is needed.
A solemn gathering sits silently; Bharata begins to speak to Rāma, setting up a consoling and instructive discourse.
Bharata’s responsibility and moral courage—he breaks silence to offer guidance aligned with dharma.
