Concept: Tīrtha is a spiritual amplifier: sacrifice performed at a sanctified place yields supra-royal, even divine, attainment.

Application: Choose place and intention carefully: pair one’s charity, vows, and worship with pilgrimage or sacred remembrance; create ‘tīrtha’ at home through purity and Hari-smaraṇa when travel is impossible.

Primary Rasa: adbhuta

Secondary Rasa: vira

Type: tirtha

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"Nārada stands before an assembly of kings and sages, Yudhiṣṭhira seated at the forefront, all listening in rapt silence. Behind them rises a sacred ghat with banners and sacrificial fires, while a subtle celestial aura hints that the place itself grants elevation beyond earthly rule.","primary_figures":["Nārada","Yudhiṣṭhira","assembled kings and sages","symbolic presence of Kubera (as narrative exemplar)"],"setting":"riverbank tīrtha with yajña-vedī, smoke from offerings, and pilgrims gathered","lighting_mood":"golden dawn with sacrificial fire-glow","color_palette":["fire orange","sandalwood beige","peacock blue","smoke gray","gold leaf"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: Nārada with vīṇā addressing Yudhiṣṭhira and a court of sages; ornate yajña-vedī with flames, gold leaf halos, rich crimson drapery, emerald borders, and gem-like detailing on crowns and ornaments; the tīrtha ghat rendered with stylized waves and lotus motifs.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: a lyrical court-assembly under a canopy near a river; Nārada gesturing gently, Yudhiṣṭhira attentive; cool palette, fine linework, delicate smoke curls from the yajña, distant trees and hills framing the sacred ford.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: Nārada with bold outlines and expressive eyes, vīṇā angled across the torso; Yudhiṣṭhira and attendants in rhythmic rows; stylized yajña flames and river patterns, warm reds/yellows/greens in temple-wall composition.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: narrative panel with ornate floral borders; central Nārada and Yudhiṣṭhira, surrounding devotees; lotus-filled river foreground, peacocks at corners, deep blue ground with gold highlights and symmetrical decorative motifs."}

Audio Atmosphere: {"recitation_mood":"narrative","suggested_raga":"Desh","pace":"moderate-narrative","voice_tone":"authoritative","sound_elements":["vīṇā drone","sacrificial fire crackle","conch shell (soft)","murmur of assembly","river ambience"]}

FAQs

It teaches that contact with a sacred tīrtha—especially when paired with a great yajña—can bestow a status and spiritual merit surpassing ordinary political sovereignty.

Kubera functions as an exemplar: by performing a mahāyajña at this place and attaining the tīrtha, he gained an exalted rank beyond worldly kingship, underscoring the tīrtha’s power.

Nārada addresses a group led by Yudhiṣṭhira, implying a Mahābhārata-associated narrative frame where a sage instructs royal listeners about the greatness of a sacred place.
