vena uvāca | sraṣṭā dharmasya kaścānyaḥ śrotavyaṃ kasya vā mayā | śrutavīryatapaḥ satye mayā vā kaḥ samo bhuvi

Vena
Primary Rasa: raudra
Secondary Rasa: hasya
Type: city
Sandhi Resolution Notes:
He expresses extreme pride and self-sufficiency, claiming no one should instruct him and that no one equals him in virtue or power.
It shows Vena’s hubris: he implies dharma is defined by his will, rejecting the traditional view that dharma is grounded in śāstra and upheld by sages and divine order.
It warns that arrogance and refusal to heed wise counsel undermine righteousness; ego can lead a ruler away from dharma and toward adharma.
