Tīrtha-yātrā-varṇana
Description of Pilgrimage to the Sacred Fords
Narada
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It frames the chapter as an authoritative selection: among countless tirthas on earth and in the celestial mid-region, Narada states he has identified and taught the most important ones, guiding seekers toward high-merit (puṇya) pilgrimage.
By emphasizing “principal” tirthas, the verse supports focused devotional practice—visiting and honoring key sacred places as a disciplined expression of bhakti rather than wandering without discernment.
The verse implies the applied dharma of tirtha-yatra—knowing which places are primary for ritual merit—though it does not directly teach a specific Vedanga like Vyakarana or Jyotisha in this line.
