FAQs

It teaches that satya (truthfulness) and faithful fulfillment of a vow/promise can generate deep vairāgya (detachment) and become a direct cause for attaining merit leading toward paraloka (the higher/other world).

While not explicitly naming a deity, it supports bhakti-ethics: devotion is stabilized by satya and dharma—keeping one’s word is presented as a purifying discipline that aligns the heart toward higher spiritual attainment.

The practical takeaway is dharma-nīti rather than a Vedāṅga technique: the verse emphasizes satyavākya-pālana (keeping a truthful pledge), a core ethical observance that underlies vrata practice and ritual integrity.
