Kāṣṭhīla-Upākhyāna: Rākṣasī, Spear-Śakti, and Kāśī as Śakti-kṣetra
Suta (narrating the account; verse depicts a judgment within the story)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhayanaka
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It teaches dharmic discernment: outer gentleness and truthful manners can mask inner deceit, so judgment should be based on known signs and verified conduct, not appearances.
Bhakti requires sincerity (ārjava) and truthfulness; the verse warns that devotional appearance without inner integrity becomes hypocrisy, which misleads others and obstructs spiritual progress.
No specific Vedanga (like Vyākaraṇa or Jyotiṣa) is taught here; the practical takeaway is ethical evaluation (nīti/dharma) through careful observation and evidence.
