Adhyaya 90 — The Slaying of Shumbha and the Reabsorption of the Goddesses into Ambika
दिव्यान्यस्त्राणि शतशो मुमुचे यान्यथाम्बिका । बभञ्ज तानि दैत्येन्द्रस्तत्प्रतीघातकर्तृभिः ॥
divyānyastrāṇi śataśo mumuce yānyathāmbikā / babhañja tāni daityendrastatpratīghātakartṛbhiḥ
At anumang mga banal na punglo na pinakawalan ni Ambika nang daan-daan, winasak ng panginoon ng mga Daitya ang lahat ng iyon sa pamamagitan ng sarili niyang mga sandatang may kakayahang sumalungat at pumawi sa mga iyon.
The verse illustrates the resilience of negative forces (the ego/Daitya) which possess the capacity to counter divine interventions initially, requiring the Goddess to escalate her power.
