Adhyaya 78 — Hymn to Surya and the Distribution of Solar Splendour; Genealogy of Vaivasvata and Chaya’s Line
Purāṇic genealogies tie cosmic order to human history: exemplary rulership is portrayed as arising from harmonized alliances of lineages, legitimizing dharma through remembered ancestry.
Vaṃśānucarita: this is a direct dynastic notice (birth of Kuru) that undergirds later epic history; it supplements Manvantara material by anchoring human royal lines in cosmic genealogy.
Tapatī (‘the warming/burning one’) can be read as the solar potency transmitting ‘tapas’ into kingship—heat as the inner austerity required for sustaining a realm.
