Adhyaya 51 — Yaksha Injunctions: Graha-Children and Female Spirits Causing Domestic and Ritual Disruptions
करोति ग्रहणन्तेषां वचसां ग्राहकस्तु सः । आक्रम्यान्यो मनो नॄणां तमसाच्छाद्य दुर्मतिः ॥
karoti grahaṇan teṣāṃ vacasāṃ grāhakas tu saḥ | ākramyānyo mano nṝṇāṃ tamasācchādya durmatiḥ ||
Siya ang nagdudulot ng “pagkakapit” sa kanilang mga salita—siya ang tagapagbaluktot at maling pagdakma sa pananalita. May isa pang masama na sumasalakay sa isipan ng mga tao, tinatakpan ito ng kadiliman (tamas).

Conflict is sustained not only by malicious speech but by distorted reception of speech. The counsel is to cultivate clarity (sattva), verify meaning, and resist tamasic impulses that rush to wrong conclusions.

‘Grasping words’ points to viparyaya (misconception) and pramāda (carelessness). The tamasic veiling of mind is an inner ‘graha’ (seizer) that eclipses discernment, making even truthful counsel appear hostile.
