Adhyaya 50 — Mind-Born Progeny, Svayambhuva Manu’s Lineage, and Brahmā’s Ordinance to Duḥsaha (Alakṣmī’s Retinue)
मुसलो लूखले स्त्रीणामास्या तद्वदुदुम्बरे ।
अवस्करे मन्त्रणञ्च यक्षैतदुपकृत् तव ॥
musalo lūkhale strīṇām āsyā tadvad udumbare | avaskare mantraṇaṃ ca yakṣaitad upakṛt tava ||
Ang halo at lusong ng mga babae (na iniwang marumi), gayundin ang dumi sa punong udumbara; ang pabulong na pagsangguni sa gitna ng basura—O Yakṣa, ito ang naglilingkod at sumusuporta sa iyo.
Unclean domestic spaces and degrading social behaviors (like secretive whispering around refuse—symbolic of low conduct) are presented as conditions that nourish misfortune.

Refuse symbolizes saṃskāra-waste (unprocessed negativity). ‘Mantraṇa amid refuse’ points to intentions formed in impurity—choices made from tamas—strengthening inauspicious currents.
