Adhyaya 34Madālāsā’s Instruction on Sadācāra (Householder Conduct, Purity, and Daily Rites)

पादेनार्थस्य पारत्र्यं कुर्यात् सञ्चयमात्मवान् ।

अर्धेन चात्मभरणं नित्यनैमित्तिकान्वितम् ॥

pādenārthasya pāratryaṃ kuryāt sañcayam ātmavān | ardhena cātmabharaṇaṃ nityanaimittikānvitam ||

Ang taong may pagpipigil-sa-sarili ay dapat maglaan ng isang-kapat ng yaman bilang ipon para sa susunod na daigdig (sa pamamagitan ng mga gawang may kabutihan). Sa kalahati naman, dapat niyang tustusan ang sarili at ang sambahayan, kasama ang mga tungkuling palagian at paminsan-minsan.
