Adhyaya 23 — Ashvatara’s Vow for Madalasa and the Bestowal of Musical Science by Sarasvati
किंत्वत्र मन्ये कर्तव्यस्त्यागो भागस्य योषितः ।
स चापि नोपकाराय तन्वङ्ग्याः किन्तु सर्वथा ॥
kintv atra manye kartavyas tyāgo bhāgasya yoṣitaḥ / sa cāpi nopakārāya tanvaṅgyāḥ kintu sarvathā
Ngunit dito, iniisip ko na dapat isagawa ang pagtalikod sa aking bahagi para sa babaeng iyon; subalit kahit iyon ay hindi para sa kapakinabangan ng may payat na mga biyas, kundi lubos (para sa ibang layunin).
