Chapter 58: Arjuna’s Deployment of the Indra-Weapon
महानभूत् ततः शब्दो वंशानामिव दहाुताम्,उस समय जलते हुए बाँसोंके चटखनेका-सा बड़ा भयंकर शब्द हो रहा था
mahān abhūt tataḥ śabdo vaṃśānām iva dahyatām
Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: Pagkaraan, may sumiklab na isang malaki at nakapanghihilakbot na ingay—gaya ng pagputok-putok ng mga kawayan habang nasusunog—na waring hudyat ng biglaang marahas na pagliko ng pangyayari at nagpalalim sa damdamin ng nalalapit na panganib.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse uses vivid sensory imagery to mark a decisive escalation: when disorder and danger surge, one should recognize the signs of impending conflict and respond with alertness and steadiness rather than confusion.
The narrator reports that a terrifying, booming sound suddenly arises, compared to the sharp cracking of bamboo as it burns—an auditory cue that the situation has become intense and perilous.
