शमीवृक्षस्थायुधप्रकाशनम् / Revelation and Identification of the Weapons on the Śamī Tree
वैशम्पायन उवाच एवमादीनि वाक्यानि विलपन्तमचेतसम् । प्रहस्य पुरुषव्याप्रो रथस्यान्तिकमानयत्,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! उत्तर इसी प्रकारकी बातें कहता और विलाप करता हुआ अचेत हो रहा था। पुरुषसिंह अर्जुन उसकी बातोंपर हँसते हुए उसे रथके समीप ले आये
vaiśampāyana uvāca evamādīni vākyāni vilapantam acetasaṃ | prahasya puruṣavyāghro rathasyāntikam ānayat ||
Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: “O Janamejaya, habang si Uttara’y nagsasalita ng gayong mga salita at humahagulhol sa panaghoy na halos mawalan ng ulirat, si Arjuna—ang tigre sa mga tao—ay ngumiti sa kanyang sinabi at dinala siya palapit sa karwahe.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights steadiness and leadership: when a younger warrior collapses into fear and lamentation, the seasoned hero responds without panic—using calm confidence (even a smile) to restore order and move the situation toward right action (dharma) rather than paralysis.
Uttara is speaking despairing words and becoming overwhelmed. Arjuna, described as ‘tiger among men,’ smiles at his lament and physically brings him close to the chariot—an immediate, practical step to take control of the moment and prepare for what must be done.
