Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the āśrama ideal: a sacred, disciplined environment sustained by simple, non-harmful means (fruits and roots), suggesting that dharma is supported by restraint, purity, and harmony with nature.

Dhaumya points out a specific holy location—the hermitage of Agastya’s disciple—situated on the Devasama mountain, describing its natural abundance and sanctity as part of guiding or informing the listeners about the place.
