युधिष्ठिरस्य अर्जुनप्रेषण-युक्तिवर्णनम् | Yudhiṣṭhira’s Rationale for Sending Arjuna and Request to Dhaumya

अश्वमेधमवाप्रोति कुलं चैव समुद्धरेत्‌ । वहाँ स्नान करनेवाला मनुष्य वाजपेययज्ञका फल पाता है। तदनन्तर ब्रह्मर्षियोंसे सेवित देवकूट-तीर्थमें जाकर स्नान करे। ऐसा करनेवाला पुरुष अश्वमेध-यज्ञका फल पाता और अपने कुलका उद्धार कर देता है || १४१ $ || ततो गच्छेत राजेन्द्र कौशिकस्य मुने्हदम्‌,राजेन्द्र! तत्पश्चात्‌ कौशिक मुनिके कुण्डमें स्नानके लिये जाय, जहाँ कुशिकनन्दन विश्वामित्रने उत्तम सिद्धि प्राप्त की थी। वीर! भरतकुलभूषण! उस तीर्थमें कौशिकी नदीके तटपर एक मासतक निवास करे

aśvamedham avāpnoti kulaṃ caiva samuddharet | tatonantaraṃ brahmarṣibhiḥ sevite devakūṭa-tīrthe gatvā snāyāt | evaṃ kṛtvā puruṣo ’śvamedha-yajñasya phalaṃ prāpnoti sva-kulasya ca samuddhāraṃ karoti || tato gacchet rājendra kauśikasya muneḥ kuṇḍam | yatra kuśika-nandano viśvāmitro munir uttamāṃ siddhiṃ prāptaḥ | vīra bharata-kula-bhūṣaṇa! tasmin tīrthe kauśikī-nadyāḥ taṭe māsam ekaṃ nivased iti ||

Wika ni Ghūlastya: “Ang sinumang maligo sa banal na pook na iyon ay magkakamit ng gantimpalang tulad ng handog na Vājapeya. Pagkaraan nito, O hari, marapat na magtungo sa pook-paglalakbay na Devakūṭa, na iginagalang at dinadalaw ng mga Brahmarṣi, at maligo roon. Sa paggawa nito, ang tao’y makakamit ang bunga ng handog na Aśvamedha at magiging sanhi ng pag-angat ng kanyang angkan. Pagkatapos, O pinakamainam sa mga hari, magtungo ka sa paliguang-lawa ng pantas na Kauśika—doon nakamit ni Viśvāmitra, anak ni Kuśika, ang sukdulang katuparan. O bayani, hiyas ng lahing Bharata, manahan ka nang isang buwan sa tīrtha na iyon sa pampang ng ilog Kauśikī.”
