Even intense suffering can be meaningful when understood truthfully and seen in light of its eventual outcome; narrating events as they truly happened (yathāvṛttam) supports ethical clarity and reconciliation.
Gautama concludes his explanation to the listeners, stating that he has fully described the cause of his delay and the events in proper sequence, and that although he endured great sorrow, it ultimately culminated in happiness.
