सत्यवानुवाच पित्राहमभ्यनुज्ञात: सावित्रीसहितो गतः । अथ मे<भूच्छिरोदु:खं वने काष्ठानि भिन्दतः,सत्यवान् बोले--मैं पिताकी आज्ञा पाकर सावित्रीके साथ वनमें गया। फिर वनमें लकड़ियोंको चीरते समय मेरे सिरमें बड़े जोरसे दर्द होने लगा
satyavān uvāca: pitrāham abhyanujñātaḥ sāvitrīsahito gataḥ | atha me 'bhūc chiroduḥkhaṃ vane kāṣṭhāni bhindataḥ ||
Wika ni Satyavān: “Nang makuha ko ang pahintulot ng aking ama, nagtungo ako sa gubat na kasama si Sāvitrī. Pagkaraan, habang naghahati ako ng panggatong sa kakahuyan, biglang sumiklab ang matinding kirot sa aking ulo.”
