क्रोधमूलो विनाशो हि प्रजानामिह दृश्यते । तत् कथं मादृश: क्रोधमुत्सूजेल्लोकनाशनम्,इस जगतमें क्रोधके कारण लोगोंका नाश होता दिखायी देता है; इसलिये मेरे-जैसा मनुष्य लोकविनाशक क्रोधका उपयोग दूसरोंपर कैसे करेगा?
krodhamūlo vināśo hi prajānām iha dṛśyate | tat kathaṃ mādṛśaḥ krodham utsṛjel lokanāśanam ||
Sa mundong ito, malinaw na nakikita na ang kapahamakan ng mga tao ay nagmumula sa galit. Kaya paano magpapadala ang isang tulad ko sa galit—na sumisira sa daigdig—at gagamitin iyon laban sa iba?
युधिछिर उवाच
Anger is portrayed as the root cause of social and personal ruin; a dharmic person—especially a ruler—should restrain anger because it becomes “world-destroying” when acted upon.
In the Vana Parva context, Yudhiṣṭhira reflects on the dangers of anger and questions how someone committed to dharma could permit himself to act from wrath, given its destructive consequences for people and society.
