यदि न स्युर्मानुषेषु क्षमिण: पृथिवीसमा: । न स्यात् संधिर्मनुष्याणां क्रोधमूलो हि विग्रह:,यदि मनुष्योंमें पृथ्वीके समान क्षमाशील पुरुष न हों तो मानवोंमें कभी सन्धि हो ही नहीं सकती; क्योंकि झगड़ेकी जड़ तो क्रोध ही है
yadi na syur mānuṣeṣu kṣamiṇaḥ pṛthivī-samāḥ | na syāt sandhir manuṣyāṇāṁ krodha-mūlo hi vigrahaḥ ||
Wika ni Yudhiṣṭhira: “Kung sa mga tao ay walang marunong magpatawad—matatag na gaya ng lupa—hindi kailanman magiging posible ang pagkakasundo. Sapagkat ang ugat ng alitan ay galit.”
युधिछिर उवाच
Forgiveness (kṣamā) is essential for social harmony: without patient, earth-like forbearance, no lasting reconciliation (sandhi) can occur, because anger is the primary source of disputes.
Yudhiṣṭhira reflects on human conduct and governance, emphasizing that peace-making depends on the presence of forgiving individuals who can absorb offenses without escalating them into conflict.
