Kuntī’s Regulated Hospitality to a Brāhmaṇa Guest
तस्मिन् प्रवत्ते संग्रामे घोरे रुधिरकर्दमे । धूम्राक्ष; कपिसैन्यं तद् द्रावयामास पत्रिभि:,उस घोर संग्राममें धरतीपर रक्तकी कीच जम गयी थी। इसी समय धूम्राक्ष अपने बाणोंसे उस वानरसेनाको खदेड़ने लगा
tasmin pravṛtte saṅgrāme ghore rudhirakardame | dhūmrākṣaḥ kapisainyaṃ tad drāvayāmāsa patribhiḥ ||
Nang magsimula ang kakila-kilabot na labanan at ang lupa’y naging putik ng dugo, si Dhūmrākṣa ay nagpaulan ng mga palaso at itinaboy ang hukbo ng mga vanara hanggang sila’y tumakas.
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
The verse highlights the moral cost of warfare: when conflict escalates without restraint, it degrades the world into a ‘mire of blood.’ Valor and power, if not governed by dharma, become instruments of widespread suffering.
As the fierce battle begins and the battlefield becomes blood-soaked, Dhūmrākṣa attacks with volleys of arrows and routs the monkey-army, forcing them to retreat.
