Sāvitrī’s Trirātra-Vrata and Departure with Satyavān (सावित्रीव्रतनिश्चयः सहगमनं च)
The verse highlights prudent vigilance and the importance of rightful identification: when someone invokes one’s lineage, the proper response is alert inquiry rather than blind acceptance.
After hearing a stranger speak in a way that references their father by name, the two characters ready their bows and question each other about the stranger’s identity, signaling caution and a need for verification.
