Rāma’s victory, Sītā’s vindication, and return to Ayodhyā as told by Mārkaṇḍeya
The verse presents Sītā’s birth and marriage as guided by divine intention, suggesting that exemplary figures and their unions can be instruments of dharma, not merely outcomes of human choice.
Mārkaṇḍeya identifies Janaka as the king of Videha and introduces Sītā as his daughter, stating that the Creator (Tvaṣṭṛ) fashioned her to be Rāma’s beloved chief queen, thereby framing her role as providential.
