स जज्ञे विश्रवा नाम तस्यात्मार्थेन वै द्विज: । प्रतीकाराय सक्रोधस्ततो वैश्रवणस्य वै
sa jajñe viśravā nāma tasyātmārthena vai dvijaḥ | pratīkārāya sakrodhas tato vaiśravaṇasya vai, rājan |
Wika ni Mārkaṇḍeya: “Mula sa kanya ay isinilang ang isang Brahmana na nagngangalang Viśravā, iniluwal para sa sariling layunin. At, O hari, sa nag-aalab na galit, siya’y lumitaw upang gumanti kay Vaiśravaṇa.”
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
The verse highlights how anger and the urge for retaliation can shape even familial and cosmic outcomes; it frames wrath as a powerful motive that generates further entanglement rather than reconciliation.
Mārkaṇḍeya tells the king that a brahmin-sage named Viśravā came into being, and that his emergence is linked to anger and a purpose of counteraction directed against Vaiśravaṇa (Kubera), continuing a conflict within a lineage.
