Rāma–Rāvaṇa Encounter under Illusion
न हि पापं कृतं किंचित् कर्म वा निन्दितं क्वचित् | द्रौपद्या ब्राह्मणेष्वेव धर्म: सुचरितो महान्,इसने कभी कोई पाप या निन्दित कर्म नहीं किया है। द्रौपदीने ब्राह्मणोंके प्रति सेवा- सत्कार आदिके रूपमें महान् धर्मका आचरण किया है
na hi pāpaṃ kṛtaṃ kiñcit karma vā ninditaṃ kvacit | draupadyā brāhmaṇeṣv eva dharmaḥ sucarito mahān |
Sinabi ni Yudhiṣṭhira: “Tunay, wala siyang nagawang kasalanan ni anuman, ni wala siyang ginawang gawaing dapat sisihin. Sa halip, isinabuhay ni Draupadī ang dakila at huwarang dharma—lalo na sa paglilingkod, paggalang, at wastong pagtingin sa mga brāhmaṇa.”
युधिषछ्िर उवाच
True moral assessment looks at a person’s consistent conduct: Yudhiṣṭhira asserts Draupadī’s innocence by pointing to her sustained practice of dharma—especially reverence and service toward brāhmaṇas—implying that virtue and habitual righteousness are strong evidence against accusations of wrongdoing.
In the Vana Parva context, Yudhiṣṭhira speaks in defense of Draupadī, declaring that she has done no sinful or censurable act and emphasizing her exemplary religious-social conduct toward brāhmaṇas, thereby framing her character as blameless and dharmic.
