Skanda–Mātṛgaṇa-janma: Kumārakāḥ, Kanyāgaṇāḥ, and the Vīrāṣṭaka
True worth is measured by inner wisdom and dharma-knowledge rather than social status; one who is steady-minded and fulfilled by knowledge is not an object of pity but of respect.
In the dialogue with the Dharma-vyādha, the Brahmin acknowledges the hunter’s spiritual maturity—steady intellect, insight into dharma, and contentment born of knowledge—and therefore says he does not lament for him.
