Dharma-vyādha’s Analysis of Moral Decline and the Mahābhūta–Guṇa Schema (धर्मव्याधोपदेशः)
ये चास्य दारुणा: केचिद् ग्रहा: सूर्यादयो दिवि | ते चास्य सौम्या जायन्ते शिवा: शिवतरा: सदा,इतना ही नहीं, आकाशके सूर्य आदि ग्रहोंमेंसे जो कोई भी उसके लिये भयंकर होते हैं, वे उपर्युक्त गायत्री-झपके प्रभावसे उसके लिये सदा सौम्य, सुखद एवं परम मंगलकारी हो जाते हैं
ye cāsya dāruṇāḥ kecid grahāḥ sūryādayo divi | te cāsya saumyā jāyante śivāḥ śivatarāḥ sadā ||
Sinabi ni Yudhiṣṭhira: “Maging ang mababagsik na impluwensiyang pangkalangitan—mula sa mga katawang selestiyal gaya ng Araw—na kung hindi ay magiging nakapanghihilakbot para sa isang tao, ay nagiging banayad para sa kanya; sa kapangyarihan ng sagradong pagsasanay na iyon (ang japa ng Gāyatrī), nagiging palaging mapalad, nagdudulot ng ginhawa at ng pinakamataas na kabutihan.”
युधिछिर उवाच
Steady sacred practice—especially mantra-japa associated with purity and restraint—can neutralize fear and adversity, turning even seemingly hostile cosmic influences into supportive, auspicious conditions aligned with dharma.
Yudhiṣṭhira explains that celestial forces (grahas), including the Sun and other heavenly bodies, which might otherwise be ominous for someone, become gentle and highly auspicious for that person through the efficacy of the prescribed spiritual practice (noted in the surrounding context as Gāyatrī-japa).
