Indra’s Meeting with the Pāṇḍavas

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the ideal of ordered reverence: beings of a realm naturally gather around and serve the rightful lord, suggesting that authority grounded in cosmic order (and recognized merit) draws willing attendance rather than coercion.

Vaiśampāyana describes a splendid celestial assembly where Gandharvas and Apsarases stand around Kubera in attendance, likening the scene to the gods surrounding Indra.
