यवक्रीत-वधः
The Slaying of Yavakrīta at Raibhya’s Hermitage
तावब्रवीदृषि: क्रुद्धों यवक्रीर्वध्यतामिति । जग्मतुस्तौ तथेत्युक्त्वा यवक्रीतजिघांसया,तब क्रोधमें भरे हुए महर्षिने कहा--“यवक्रीतको मार डालो।' उस समय “बहुत अच्छा' कहकर वे दोनों यवक्रीतके वधकी इच्छासे उसका पीछा करने लगे
tāv abravīd ṛṣiḥ kruddho yava-krīr vadhyatām iti | jagmatus tau tathety uktvā yava-krī-tajighāṃsayā ||
Pagkatapos, ang pantas, nag-aalab sa galit, ay nagwika: “Patayin si Yavakrī.” Nang marinig iyon, sumagot ang dalawa, “Gayon ang mangyayari,” at dahil sa pagnanasang pumatay kay Yavakrī, sila’y umalis upang siya’y tugisin.
लोगश उवाच
The verse cautions that anger (krodha), even in a revered sage, can distort judgment and lead to adharma; those who assent and act (“tathā”) share responsibility as agents of that anger.
An enraged sage commands that Yavakrī be killed. Two individuals accept the order and go after Yavakrī with the intention of slaying him.
