Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Reception Plan for Janārdana (Kṛṣṇa): Gifts, Procession, and Protocol
The verse highlights dharma expressed as proper hospitality and timely preparation: honoring an important guest through organized, well-provisioned arrangements is treated as an ethical and political duty, especially in moments of high-stakes diplomacy.
Vaiśaṃpāyana reports an instruction to a heroic figure addressed as ‘paraṃtapa’ to begin immediate preparations for a distinguished person’s reception, including establishing rest-halls along the travel route stocked with all necessary comforts.
