Udyoga Parva, Adhyāya 72 — Bhīmasena’s counsel on conciliation and Duryodhana’s disposition

नानुक्रोशान्न कार्पण्यान्न च धर्मार्थकारणात्‌ । अलं कर्तु धार्तराष्ट्रस्तव काममरिंदम

nā’nukrośān na kārpaṇyān na ca dharmārthakāraṇāt | alaṁ kartuṁ dhārtarāṣṭras tava kāmam ariṁdama śatrumardana nareśa ||

Wika ni Yudhiṣṭhira: “Hindi dahil sa habag, hindi dahil sa kaawa-awang kahinaan, at hindi rin dahil sa dharma o pakinabang sa daigdig magpapasya ang mga anak ni Dhṛtarāṣṭra na tuparin ang iyong nais. O manlulupig ng kaaway, O Hari—huwag mong isipin na pagbibigyan nila ang iyong hiling dahil sa awa, dahil sa pagpapakumbaba, o dahil sa pagtingin sa katuwiran at pamamahala.”
