ते चेदस्मान् युध्यमानाञ्जयेयु- देवैर्महेन्द्रप्रमुखै: सहायै: । धर्मादधर्मश्षरितो गरीयां- स्ततो ध्रुवं नास्ति कृतं च साधु
te ced asmān yudhyamānān jayeyur devair mahendrapramukhaiḥ sahāyaiḥ | dharmād adharmaḥ śarito garīyān tato dhruvaṃ nāsti kṛtaṃ ca sādhu ||
Sinabi ni Sanjaya: “Kung kahit may mga diyos—si Indra at ang mga pinakadakila—bilang kakampi, magagapi pa rin kami ng mga anak ni Dhritarashtra habang kami’y lumalaban, mapipilitan ang tao na sabihing mas mabigat ang kasamaan kaysa katuwiran; at sa gayong kalagayan, ang mabuti at marangal na gawa ay wala nang saysay sa daigdig.”
